Chicago Sky Line

Posted by Corey Brown June © 2009

Chicago the City of Wind. Chicago is a very beautiful city as long as you take a step back from the hustle and bustle. This is only a partial of a skyline shot that was done for a commercial sub shop. The final print will be close to 14 feet wide, as soon as it is hung I encourage you to check it out.

Over the next few weeks I will be reviewing Image stabilized OM lenses with the Olympus E3 Thanks to firmware update 1.1 . The firmware has a list of updates.

This is a what it says it covers

 [ E-3 ]

Enabled use of the Image Stabilization function with non-Four Thirds System interchangeable lenses by inputting a specific focal length.                       (that is some of these)

-

Matched the rotation of the dial on the rear of the Power Battery Holder HLD-4 and the movement direction of the AF target.

-

Increased the number of storable still pictures by improving the battery check when the Power Battery Holder HLD-4 is attached.

-

Focusing now stops immediately when the AF start button (AEL/AFL or Fn button) is released.

-

Corrected the phenomenon where the flash control caused an under exposure while using bounce flash at short distances with the FL-50R or FL-36R Electronic Flash.

-

Improved selection and prioritization of the central 5 ranging points when shooting in C-AFmode and Dynamic-single Target mode.(this info was copied from olympus’ web page from this link   http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/download/software/firm/e1/)

I have been lent three lens to use to test the IS and it’s abilities.

Ken Norton one of the organizers and founders of Zone 10 website

was kind enough to let me use his lenses Just so I could try and share my findings with you.

So if you would like to thank him drop by their site take a look at the wealth of information they have

and that is growing weekly. You can also catch up to him and a lot of other very informative and helpful folks over on their forums that can be found here  ZX Forums

Keep checking back I hope to have the first set of testing and part one of the review up by next week.

Thanks for stopping by.
