Thats right a photos shoot is a beauty salon. Some of the Best Clients that I have ever had probably because they are some of the finest people you could ever meet decided to have their 50th anniversary photo for the news paper done in their Beauty salon. Main street Styling in Tama Iowa was kind enough to let us use there very small shop to do the shoot sense our client had just had her hair done and it was very windy it seemed like the best solution at the time.
I shot every thing stobist style with 1 285 HV and a Metz 54 both fired with my Elinchrom Skyports. The 285 was placed subject left about 4' shot through a transparent white umbrella at 1/2 power. the Metz was clamped to the door frame above the door use a better bounce card to help direct the light. The Metz was set at 5.6 ISO 100 and 1/4 & 1/3. The Camera settings were ISO 100 1/200 F/6.3 shot with my Olympus E3 and the 50-200 SWD.
This was such a fun shoot. It was very HOT with the Hair dryer going and the flashes and how small it was but I know I will remember this for a very long time. I don't know if Main Street Styling will every be the same and it will give the ladies something to talk about for awhile and we got pictures to boot. Thanks for the Experience and the memories God Bless.
